Fun fact: I didn’t always love dogs — in fact, I used to be terrified of them. When I was a kid, a large dog chased me, and for years after that I kept my distance (yes, even from very small ones).
Everything changed with Oliver — my family’s Yorkie. He didn’t just help me get over my fear; he showed me the depth of a dog’s love and how deeply we love them in return. He was happy with me, sad with me, and always ready to sit by my side for a snack. Through Oliver, I finally understood dogs.
Over time, fear was completely replaced with love. Now I’m the person who has to pet every dog I see, and at any gathering you’ll probably find me on the floor hanging out with the pups. I love Oliver so much that I have a tattoo of him on my forearm — and shortly after that, Ellie joined our family. My husband and I welcomed our own puppy, and we became true dog parents — she sleeps in our bed, shares my food, and even has a stroller for mall trips (she genuinely loves it).
I’ve been photographing weddings, families, children, and newborns for over a decade, and I bring that same patience, intuition, and attention to emotion into photographing dogs. Because dogs are more than pets — they’re our walking partners, our kitchen floor crumb cleaners, our constant companions. They’re there through everything.
We all have a million photos of them sleeping on our phones. I wanted to do more than that. I wanted to create something intentional — an experience that honors the joy they bring and artwork that preserves it for life.
If this sounds like the kind of experience you want for your dog, I’d love to hear all about them.
