Adena and Jonathan had a gorgeous wedding day at Crystal Plaza!! The weather was insane – thunderstorms were on the horizon and the start time for them kept moving way way up (like we have 8 minutes to shoot til it starts way up). We used our portrait time well and then spent the day celebrating Jewish ceremonies and traditions (and dancing! So much dancing!). And then the sun came out full force and we took advantage for a few more portraits 😉
From the couple:
Michelle is such a joy to work with! She is talented, dependable, and such a fast worker. My family let me take the reins for vendors for my wedding and I’m so glad they did because it was important to me to find an independent artist instead of a big wedding photography company. I’ve heard stories from people who’ve used those types of big companies and there are so many horror stories (photos got lost, albums took over a year to see in print, etc.). I reached out to many photographers that were in the Hoboken/NJ area and with Michelle’s response (she sent along a photo of her adorable dog!) I knew we would be a great fit. We set up a time to talk on video with my fiancee at the time and he was very happy with her as well. Her prices are very reasonable and it was clear that she is a pro at this. Then, we scheduled an engagement shoot with her and she was amazing in being so accommodating anytime we needed to reschedule because of rain. She was stalking that Weather app just like I was. On the day of our engagement shoot, we didn’t know what to expect because we’re not comfortable in front of the camera but Michelle gave us clear direction the whole time. And a week later, we got all our photos! My coworkers went crazy over them 🙂 They were beautiful and candid and we immediately got some printed for our apartment.
Cut to a month or so before the wedding and she asked us to send a timeline so it’s easier to just call out the names at the wedding. Super smart! We also had a quick discussion a week before the wedding to go over everything since I had a religious Jewish wedding, which is PACKED with things going on and hence, moments to photograph.
I had a very early start to my wedding day since it was set to start at 11:30 AM and Michelle was at the hotel with her assistant around 8 AM. The rain clouds were coming in quick and she made sure that we got some time outside for our first look before it started to downpour. During the entire wedding, she was present but it didn’t feel like she was taking over. The sun came out after the ceremony and she worked overtime at no cost to get some awesome photos of me and my husband! Definitely, not a thing that every photographer would do and we really appreciated it. Soon, we got a blog post to coo over and then ALL the photos. She’s so fast and reliable, it’s amazing!
So basically – hire her!
